Nigel Parkin, Managing Director
Since graduating in Accounting
and Finance in 1984, and qualifying as a management accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1993,
Nigel Parkin has operated as a management accountant, financial trainer, IT consultant and Project Manager.
After graduating, Nigel started as
an articled clerk, auditing and compiling accounts for a variety of businesses, before obtaining significant experience with
the hotel industry, obtaining a postgraduate diploma in 1986. He became a lecturer at the Manchester Metropolitan University
in 1988 where he rose to Course Director and performed consulting services and
research work. He then joined the IT industry in 1998, which allowed him to deal with a variety of clients in different industries,
and to understand and optimise their financial systems .
In terms of experience, Nigel has
worked for a variety of employers and clients including Hawson and Co, chartered accountants, Forte PLC, The Manchester Metropolitan
University, the British Council, The Licensed Trade Audit Company, Shire inns, The Financial Training Company, De Vere Hotels,
Jarvis, Novotel, Millenium Copthorne, The University Caterers’ Organisation (TUCO), Sheffield University, The Hotel
Employers Group, University Hospitality Seminars, Baan, Se Technologies, Mita, Texon, Snap-On
Tools, Bahco, EQS, Eurotools and Zebra Technologies. Nigel has trained in project management with The Project Management
Institute and in process modelling with the Powerplus Systems Corporation.
